Default Does CDA-9855 Provide an Aux Input?

I am considering purchasing the CDA-9855 and wanted to know if it has the ability to connect an Aux Input. I was reviewing the owner's manual, and it does not appear to, which surprised me.

Thanks!

The older models had a umbilical hookup that provided different accessory outputs, the AUX output cable is KCA-121B AUX. The ipod cable input cable is different and gives you pretty good integration.

You can buy an Ai-net to rca and then a y splitter (rca to mini) to make the 9855 have an auxillary input. Cables are pretty cheap (under 30$ total) on ebay.

Thanks for the replies... does the KCA-420i also use the Ai-net interface to connect to the HU? If so, does that mean I would not be able to use KCA-121B AUX cable in addition?

The KCA-420i does use Ai-net, so you would not really have to buy anything new. Just get teh adapter, and it should plug and play. Unless you already have satellite radio occupying that Ai-net port, in which case you would have to get and Ai-net splitter. Alpine sells those, as does most big stores (Best Buy, any real Alpine retailer).

Thanks for the reply John.

Do you know what the part number of the Ai-net splitter is? I cannot seem to find it on Alpine's website. I believe I would need this because I would like to connect a MyFi to an Aux Input as well as maintain the KCA-420i for the iPod.

I dont know the part off hand....call AlpineUSA and follow the prompts to order parts. They should have one. Also, you may want to check with Best Buy or Circuit City. They should have them. Might also want to check eBay.

pick the one you need. 1st adds an RCA, 2nd adds an RCA w/ a changer, 3rd allows up to 2 changers and 2 RCA's to be added.

stupid question, but since i jus wasted my time installing a pioneer 960mp in my S just to watch the flippin face open and hit the lower lip of the door, will the pioneer 9855 fit behind the door and open normal?

before someone tells me i am indiot for buying a 960 before researching if it would fit, i already had the headunit sitting in my turbo hatch and decided i would like it better in my S. but, this was a waste of my friggin time

you mean the Alpine 9855? Yes. All Alpine Swing Face models open fine.
