Default Dome light don't work

Hey all,

Both of my dome light are not working. Does anyone know what the bulb number is and how to take the dome light cover off? Also, the light behind the a/c controls on the dash does not work either.

Thanks

Do they not come on with the doors open, or when you push the button? Check and see if its a blown fuse or corrosion on the contacts (which can be easily fixed by cleaning) before you go and spend money on bulbs. Sometimes if you wiggle the On/Door/Off switch a little, they'll come back on.

If its both lights, try wiggling the On/Door/Off switch like Tphong said. If it comes on after that then its corrosion for sure. Open it up and clean the corrosion with a solvent. Its only 2 screws after you pry open the clear cover from the back. Then their is 2 more screws to get the switch out, be careful not to lose the bearings and springs.

If I use the keyless entry and unlock my doors my interior lights do not turn on. On the other hand they will turn on if I push the two buttons. I will check the fuse.

Thanks

If it comes on, its not the fuse. Its corrosion forsure!

I have this problem too. Except the buttons don't work either. Where do I need to clean. And check? I'm very new to this car.

Check the sliding switch between the two light buttons. If that switch is OFF, the buttons don't do anything. I just figured that out yesterday. I guess one of my kids must have been messing with the switch.

If you can push the buttons and the light works, but they don't come on with the door open or with the keyless entry...it is eitehr the door switch or most likely the contacts in the light, if you follow the link above it will take you about 10 minutes to clean and be good to go.
