Default Door speaker fitment

Reading Lucid's site info, it says that only "euro" 6.5" speakers will directly drop into the S2000 doors, and that a "real" (i.e. US made??) 6.5" speaker will require an adapter ring to mount in the doors.

Am I interpreting this accurately?

Are most of you using the Lucid adapters, making your own, or using other adapters, or none at all?

Yep, that's pretty much the deal.
I got the Lucids and they worked great. No fuss no muss.

How long did it take to get them? I ordered them last week, I still don't even have a shipping notification. I was hoping to do my install this weekend, I may end up just fabricating my own.

Mine came pretty promptly.
It was the DCI that I was left in the dark on for a few months.
Customer service could be a little better.

I used a hacksaw to cut the back out of the stock baskets. works fine and is FREE.

I used the factory holders, and trimmed and modified.
Fits great with my Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5's

dude, dont hack the basket. i did that before it got the foam baffles. The baffles are good in 2 ways, one, provides better dampening for the speakers (makes tighter bass and response) and 2, protects the speakers from water coming in from the window!

I was told by an installer that the foam baffles actually steal away some of your mid-range. Instead of the baffles, he recommends these squares of a rubberized material (think the wall lining in a sound studio), sticking a square behind the magnet on the inside of the door. He says this gives you the bass response (not absorbed by door), and you don't have the foam rubber absorbing your mid-range.

Don't know how accurate this is, but he is an installer at a high-end shop. FWIW.
