i smell crack smoker, but hey, if thats his thing... seriously, i've heard about the sound deadener behind the magnet (on the inside of the door skin) trick. That only softers the 'tinny' sound a door would make. Baffles actually make the speaker work a little harder to push the air, offerring resistance to the cone, making the sounds tighter. It's not airtight (need a hole for wires). And, on S2k's the window, when rolled down, goes RIGHT behind the speaker, so the sound pad will do you little or NO good when your windows are all the way down!

i recommend lucids adapeter, dethp kit, and foam baffles. I added it to my CDT speaker and WOW, what a difference.
I'd like this - if only they would actually sell it to me. It's been a week since I placed my order, 2 days since I sent a "whazzup email". Really ODD, I am trying to give them my money!

yeah lucid is wierd. I did the EXACT same thing, i placed my order, waited one week, sent status email and got nothing. 2days later, boom its in the mail box. 1 day later, i get the email from lucid saying its been shipped! Seem like their mailroom is faster than their EMAIL room. hahahaha

What about going for the 7" Kenwood speaker system Lucid offers ? The one with the crossover and tweeters.
They also offer the 7" adapter with the speaker system. And they don't sell the adapter separate(according to the site). I wonder how hard it is to manufacture this 7" adapter.

On the 16th of this month I mailed them asking them a quote Inc. shipping to Eu for 3 items and as yet didn't get any reply. Hope they will as i will consider buying them locally and try to manufacture the adapter.

dude, dont hack the basket. i did that before it got the foam baffles. The baffles are good in 2 ways, one, provides better dampening for the speakers (makes tighter bass and response) and 2, protects the speakers from water coming in from the window!
Oh yeah, water! I forgot about that stuff.
Hell, I live in California, not worrying about it.

I'm looking into the foam baffles.

We have it the worst in CA for water - we have to wash our cars constantly to rinse off the dust!
