Well, right now, they are selling the Alpine Type R's, Type S and Infinity at the Best Buy's. the Type R's give you the most bass and wattage handling if you are looking for that...the Type R's handle 100 watts RMS if I remember correctly, the Type S and Infinity handle about half.
yeah i believe its 110 and im running them on a bridged amp. I'm not running a sub or anything. Not huge bass or anything but enough for me.

the R's are $156.00 at best buy. how does the mid and highs sound on those?

Do they fit right in or is the magnet to big? Because the magnet looks pretty big.

How do the Infinities compare? which infinity sound good?

really $156?? they were around 200 something when i got them and 140 something under employee discount. anyway my best buy didnt have any infinities that really compared IMO. I dont think they had the high end ones really. Either way you should be able to go to the store and tell them to turn on the type R's with some of your choice music. you will be able to get an idea of which ones you like better but either way they wont sound great at the place. They dont tune them at all or anything but either way I like my type R's I think they are all around nice and clear and handle quite a bit esp. if you have a sub to take some of the bass load off of them.

Why go to bestbuy. Why not try crutchfield. Their instructions and their adapters make installation of the front speakers a breeze.

All you really need to install fronts are a flat screwdriver and a medium phillips screwdriver.

just make sure to amp your type r's. If you amp them youll hear so much more clarity and bass. without it your stock speakers had more bass because your alpine deck was giving more wattage to a lower spec speaker.

now your only going to be sending about 18 watts to each speaker which requires much more

Oh great, now you tell me. I got the type R's, I installed one last night, but ran out of time for the second one. It sounds better, But I'll probably install my alpine V12 amp and add a 10" in the trunk.

I couldn't figure out the brackets and spacers. I had to use the stock basket, use one of the adapters, and a spacer. I did have to cut out the stock basket, which was real easy.

Well, looks like you are about to run a similar system to mine. I have the type R's on the doors, a V12 4 channel amp, and bridged the 3&4 to a 10 inch Alpine type E. The type R's will fit the doors but will probably need some spacers. Beware of bridging though, I had heat issues with the sub causing the amp to go into protection mode after playing music max after two hours or so. There is a long post by me if you want to read it. But basically, I solved it by modding a fan to put over the amp...now...I can go endlessly without any heat issues. But then again, most people don't listen to it as loudly as I like my music, so you "might" not get heat issues. Either way, if you do however, PM me, I can show you how I solved the problem and what to do. Any other questions, just give me a PM, hope everything works out for you, you'll love the sound once you amp the type R's and add the sub!
