Driver Window Completely Dead 2006 AP2 ~95K Miles
Hi everyone. Just today when I put the top down. the driver's side window did not go down at all or attempt to go down.
The passenger side window went all the way down just fine.
I tried the driver's window switch both to the first detent (lower window by holding button down until you get to the level you want) and the second detent which is auto down.
Nothing happened.
I tried using my hands to try to help it along but nothing.
In other words, the driver window does not go down when the top goes down and it does not go down when the top is down.
The window lock switch is a moot point since the broken window is the driver side
Passenger window will roll up and down no problem.
I tried the window "reset" trick of turning on car and holding down switch until the window goes all the way down then clicking down and holding then raising window and clicking up and holding with no effect.
I always assumed that since the windows always go down when the top goes down that failure of one or both windows to go down would prevent the top from going down. I guess I was wrong.
I am thinking it must be the window regulator for the driver's side because the switch works for the passenger side.
What do you guys think?
thanks much.

There are power window motor diagnosis instructions in the service manual (which basically has
you applying power directly to the connector in the door).
