Dvd Problem in S2k
Hey, going to be going soon on a trip and today tried out the DVD player. It hasn't been turned on for about 4 months. I rarely use it in the car unless im traveling with my g/f. so when I turned it on today, the display to the tv worked fine but there was some kind of static noise. I tried isolating to see if it was a particular speaker in the car which was doing it but it wasnt. Its till played the sound of the dvd but the static was pretty bad. Has anyone ever experienced a problem like this. The car cd player and radio plays everything without any static. Only the DVD palyer. Thanks
Did you try another DVD? Commercial release or a DVD you recorded? Any info about your system? Head unit? If the radio and CD work fine then the problem is not amp or speakers. Same disc drive for DVD and for CD?
I just tried a CD and the same static started. I could still hear the Cd just that you hear some static on it. And the static seemed to be from the unit itself. Becuase before the music started playing, listening to the static I could hear the player start reading the cd when it started turning. The dvd player is 2 years old, may be used 7 times in total. Its a Blunkpunt system with a pioneer radio. The control for the dvd unit doesnt work. Im trying to remember if the fix was to lower the volume on the dvd player since the sound is coming from the pioneer. Radio with pioneer work fine, no static unless cant get reception from station. On the blaunkpunt, its the same dvd/cd drive. And the dvd was a retail dvd not a burned dvd.
