Default Eclipse 8443 installed

Yesterday I picked up a new 8443. So far, it's an awesome headunit. The install took about an hour.

I would recommend picking up a S2000 to HU harness. The shop I bought the HU from had a prebuilt harness from Scoshe(sp?) that plugged directly into both the car and the Eclipse with no wiring, soldering, or splicing. I'm used to having to mate a HU harness and the adapter by soldering... this was so much easier!

The stock speakers actually sound excellent with this new headunit. I have yet to test it on the highway, but it gets MUCH louder without distorting. I am planning on upgrading speakers, but I'm VERY suprised by how competant the stock ones are!

I already have a line on a new Zapco Studio 300... I'm thinking 150 watts each to a pair of either Oz Audio Matrix Elite 180 CS components or Adire Audio Koda components. That'll be the first step, a sub is next. I'd like to see what 6.5's can do with 150 watts per side though!

On another note, does anybody else find the stock speakers a little bit too bright? With the stock HU I had to turn down the treble and things haven't changed with this 8443. Maybe I'm too used to my Dynaudios?
