Default Eclipse CD5000
There is a little metal box hardwired to the HU from the factory. It's says not to place it near speaker or RCA wires. Any idea what this thing is?

it helps the radio get higher ouput voltage for rca outputs going into your amp. Think of it as a mini amp. Alpine and eclipse have them on most units.
