ECU and Changing Vtec turnon point
I am sure this has been beaten to death, but I tried using search and I am left totally confused.
I have a 2001 S2000 and I want to buy an off-the-shelf modified ECU (or ECU piggy back unit). I am not looking for anything too nut. But maybe something that gives a few HP and maybe moves the vtec turn on point down 1000 rpm or so.
Is there something I can just go out and buy? If so, what?
thanks.

Lowering the VTEC point gets you nothing. It actually hurts performance.
Modding the ECU is an expensive way to get 2-4 hp.
Unless you are planning for different cams, header, exhaust or forced induction, and ECU is a MASSIVE waste of money.
The VAFC will get you a couple of HP and is relativly cheap.
There is also a slightly different fuel map in the 02-03 ECU. So you could just swap for an OEM ecu. The problem is that you need to have it reprogrammed so your key will work with it, and many dealers are reluctant to do it.
