Just to let you all know, Elemental designs has released and is shipping their new monster 13" subwoofer.

for 350.00, its the quality of a w7, can handle 1400wrms+ and does it all for the purpose of SQ.
and of coarse it comes with their free 5 year warranty standard.

btw i am not being paid to say this, i just love their products!!!!

Woven Composite The 13Av.2 is topped off with a woven polymer composite manufactured in a 3 layer process. This design offers a extremely damped performance weighted accordingly. This design offers excellent damping characteristics without suffering from materials resonance problems.

Rearward Venting System Direct rearward venting design allows for direct airflow through the entire magnetic gap. Through constant cooling distortion stays at a minimum while increasing thermal power handling.

Co-Linear Underhung The Co-Linear underhung design as implemented greatly reduces distortion and lengthens BL performance over excursion. Utilizing our tight gap motor designs we retain excellent drive efficiency while offering incredibly low distortion & high excursion.

Integrated Shorting Techniques Matched into the Underhung design to reduce distortion to absolute minimums are shorting ring techniques. This assures distortion to remain as low as humanly possible (when matched with the underhung topology).
Self Sealing Flange The Flange design on the 13Av.2 is large to allow for easy inverse or regular mount. It also features an integrated foam piece inset into the basket (ala 7Kv.2) to self seal the basket. No extra gaskets needed during installation.

Let us know how it hits. I'm thinking about upgrading my still new Kicker L7 12". Was thinking W7 but this looks like a good alternative. Fitment in the tub looks tight though. I'm thinking inverting and giving up the center of the trunk maybe. And wow, 57 lbs. Gonna give my SC a good workout lol.

^^ Are you located near me? I would like to see how the 13ov hits. Anyone in the Pacific NW with a single sub flush mount (12"+) in the trunk that REALLY hits that I could check out. Like I mentioned, I have a L7 12" that hits pretty good but, I'm craving more and would like to know where my setup stands. How are all of you planning to install such a beast as this?

when i get one, which wont be for at least a month,
i was gonna fiber glass it and put some bracin in it. it would be a little bit bigger than flush mount in order to get 1.3-1.5 cu ft for a selaed box.

then id paint it a nice gloss black probably, or if i could find it cheap enought, get a carbon fiber weave as the top layer of the glass to make the av.2's cone.

eD also has two sealed boxes for the S2000 for the 13Kv2 and SQ10. Has anybody used those?

I have an all eD home theater setup. Their stuff is great!
