electrical whine?
This link may help to explain the whine gong away w/ the second amp removed.
When I run my amp I plan on running the power under the passenger door sill. If you do some searching (yes, I know the search on this site isn't that great, but do whatcha gotta do) there have been lots of people talk about this and even a diagram or two.

Thanks doug.
One thing i might mention, it looks like the two grounds from each amp were going into a distribution block and then to the grounding point. They were not independently ground.
I saw darknights write up on the install, but it looked like he ran all his RCAs and speaker wires under the pass side door sill.
I've been trying to search to see where the other options are but have not had much luck with it. Would you run your rca's and speakers under the center console if that were the case?

More reading. However it states to run the speaker wire with the signal... but since we have the center console I plan on running one on each side of that. Since the cables will be comming off of my amp near the center of the vehicle it doesn't really make the wires longer... at least not much.
You know, I'm not really sure if signal can be induced from the RCA and speaker wires being run together.. maybe somebody else can chime in on that. As for him running his RCA's on the passenger side, I'm not really sure why (unless he states why in his how-to). I havn't read his how-to because I've done this a few times on my on vehicles... but the bat is on the passenger side which is why I plan on running the wire down that side. I guess if the power for your amp is on the left side (looking into the trunk) then it might make more sense to run the power through the drivers side.
I can't really tell, but i THINK the car is already setup with the rcas through the center console though, so if that's the case then i'll continue to leave it that way and run the power along the pass door sill if it is not curretnly like that.
Thanks for all the info. I'm pretty new to car audio so hopefully i dont blow anything up.

Just take your time and everything should be fine.
Since it sounds like the wiring wasn't really done carefully to begin with, you may want to also double check that there is a fuse on the main power wire within about a foot or so of the battery.
