Default EMS Help! AEM or HONDATA

Hondata has made a new egine management system for 2000-2005 S2000

It uses the K-Pro interface as RSX

But on the other hand there is AEM fully programable EMS

It is hard to decide which one to choose

I would be glad if you would help

Thanks a lot!

Depends on what you want to use it for. A lot of Hondata is plug and play with preset maps while an AEM is fully programable and will not pass emissions.

The Hondata looks pretty good but requires a few sensor changes so is not exactly plug and play.

The AEM with an emissions compliant tune will pass any test the Hondata will but if the emissions test include a visual inspection of the ECU then both will fail.

And an E-manage Ultimate is a piggyback so not really in the same ball park.

I believe the AEM (I don't know about the Hondata) will fail in some states that plug into the OBDII harness. Massachusetts does this type of testing before they throw the car on the dyno for emissions.

Hondata maintains factory startup and alot of factory features of the pcm. It's not really plug and play but it doesn't require the type of genius the AEM does to tune it. It can be tuned to a much finer degree from what I hear from people who work with it as well.
