Default Ever heard about "Becker"

Hey guys,

I'm planning to get a
Becker Indianapolis_PRO_7952

clean OEM-style design (most important feature for me)
blutooth cell phone connection
best Navigation on the german market
Ipod-Integration

Only hesitating to buy because I don't know whether it can be connected with the DCI.

Sherlock Holmes discovered the following:
There are some DCI-Adapters for JVC-HUs arround, as you all might know.
So far, so good.
There is a JVC-Navigation HU, KD-NX1R which is only labled as a JVC but carries full Becker-Technology within.
Furthermore, every aftermarket GPS-antennas connect plug'n play to every JVC-Headunit.
Sherlock Holmes would assume that therefore a DCI-adapter, connecting to JVC-Units will connect to Becker-units as well...

Does any of you guys know, if there's a opportunity to keep the DCI and go with the Becker?!

thanks

L-X

in looking through the specs, I don't see anything that mentions
a remote control, which is how a DCI would work. if it does
support a remote, it would need to use the exact same codes
as JVC (or some other supported remote) or possibly Modifry
could custom make you one if you sent him your remote.

You could always use the Pac SWI-X since you program the unit with your remote......

Nice - simple unit - all business as most German stuff

Why do they keep uisng American names for their models?
Why not Nurburing?

I think Blaupunkt does the same.. the naming conventions that is!

Becker/Blaupunkt are one in the same. Becker is the brand used OEM in Porsche/M-B. Decent stuff but has its issues at times. Good luck!

I would not recommend Becker to anyone. I have one in a 360 Spider (stock radio) and it's darned near IMPOSSIBLE to figure out how to use. Incredibly unfriendly. It is a different unit, though, so I hope you have better luck with yours.

thank you guys, so far.
I've written to becker, telling me that because both use the same CAN-bus, I could either connect ONLY the DCI OR my IPOD.
OMFG, I want to connect both!!

I'm confused.
