Default Excessive Current

I have a Alpine MRV-F545 4 channel amp that is giving me a message that says CUR. It means that there is excessive current. I need to eliminate the excessive current, but dont know where to start? This is where i need your help.

Im running...

Alpine CDA-9857
Infinity Kappa Perfects for doors and s-pods.

The system runs for a little then cuts out after a couple minutes. The head unit will keep working but the amp will give me a flashing CUR sign.

Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks.

How are your power and ground connections? What size wire are you using?

Did you test the current and voltage to make sure its just not the amp?

i have a 4 guage distributed into a two 8 guages. One 8 guage going into the alpine amp and the other going into a JL 500/1 amp. The ground is in ok, but the JL ground is not in.

Hey john,

how would i test it, can you give me some examples.

also did you get my pm about the sub box?

what's the wiring configuration on the speakers? could the CUR message mean your load is drawing too much current?

Are the speaker the right impedance for the amp? IF they are two low impedance (Ohms) then they will draw to much current.

There just to much draw on the amp. One of the speakers could be wired wrong, or one of the leads to the speakers is touching the metal body of the car.
