Default Factory Alarm Does not go off?

Well yesterday I sat in the car and armed it and then opened the door from
inside and the alarm doesn't go off??

The alarm basically locks & unlock.

Do I need to program to get or something?
help please

Are you sure you have the factory alarm or just keyless entry?

I think the brain of the factory alarm gets mounted under the driver's seat. If you don't see it under there then you don't have the alarm... just the keyless entry.

Oh, and the factory alarm comes with an LED (that flashes when armed). If you don't have an LED mounted somewhere inside your cabin (the dealership usually mounts it right behind your e-brake handle on the center console) then you most likely don't have the alarm.

Actually there is no "factory" alarm. There is an OEM alarm that is dealer installed. And yes, you will either have an LED on the console for AP1 (typically) or an LED that flashes in the dash on an AP2

You have to purchase an alarm kit (from dealer or you can get it from hardtopguy.com)

You will also need the attachement kit I believe.

Opinions on the OEM alarm are pretty low.
