Default Feedback when filming and viewing on monitor

Quickly, I am getting feedback through my system when trying to record video with the sound turned up, even a little. It only happens when filming and watching it simultaneously on the in-dash monitor. Is there any fix or do I have to turn the volume down every time?

Perhaps a stupid question, but I really don't know.

Where is the mike for the camera? If it is in the field of the speakers you will get feedback.

Use a remote mike and get it away from the speakers, that should do the trick.

Camera is mounted where the windscreen should be and I have an '02(tweeters mounted separately).

Tonight I did a night run and played the second disc of the Matrix: Reloaded cd. It came out without feedback. I played the video on the monitor and played the cd on the deck obviously.

Standard feedback loop. There are a couple of options, none appealing. You can get a feedback eliminator, but it's large, and I've never seen on for DC, only AC. You could use a "talk-over" type setup which squelches sound from the speakers when recording. Or you could monitor your sound with headphones, like real audio guys do. This is the cheapest, and likely the most effective solution. Using a monoaural headphone will leave one ear open so you can hear what you NEED to be hearing in the car, while still monitoring your audio. So you simply remove the audio feed from the camera to the monitor.

Not ideal, but effective, cheap, and reversable.

Thanks for the info. Go 'noles! Actually, I have a dual outlet power inverter(375 watts) in the cabin- a must for the PS2!

Again, I don't understand why I didn't get feedback when recording tonight with the stereo playing(DISC), when I did get feedback with my head unit's AUX on and recording. Perhaps I'm not explaining it concisely. Sorry.
