F8ck me that a dirty engine bay.

If the bass is ok, there is no need to make it airtight, but caulk foam around the joints would make a real tight fit...as close as youll get to airtight without sealing it in permanently.

Doh......but still....take an air hose to that bad boy....

Yea, so go to a good home improvement store or hardware store, and get caulk foam. It looks like a thick piece of foam spaghetti. Its used to fill joints between stones on buildings. I would get like 1/2 inch thick, and shove that sucker in. Youll be 98% airtight.

I've been to Kuwait, trust me it would look like that the day after the airhose treatment - the dust is appalling there.

No no. Its foam that is used on buildings or houses with stone. You stick it into the space between the joints before you caulk them. (Like that white stuff in your bathroom between the tiles)

Its very cheap, and will work well. You can also use weatherstripping.

my question:

looking at your power wire run -- it appears like you're running it towards the front of the car from the battery... and over the heatshield...

where is it going? there's a nice little grommet to get you in to the vehicle behind the battery.
i'd also be a little concerned about exposing the wire (even in loom) to the temps near the exhaust...

and i think they are suggesting you line the point of the board/well interface where they contact each other with the foam.
