and i think they are suggesting you line the point of the board/well interface where they contact each other with the foam.
Yup...on the edges where the board meets the well.

my question:

looking at your power wire run -- it appears like you're running it towards the front of the car from the battery... and over the heatshield...

where is it going? there's a nice little grommet to get you in to the vehicle behind the battery.
i'd also be a little concerned about exposing the wire (even in loom) to the temps near the exhaust...

couldn't pass the 4 gauge wire through that grommet behind the battery and yes it goes right on the headers !!!!!```` facing no problem with heat

(loom?!) you mean the black shield for the wire ?!

and about the foaming thing,, does it stick to the well ?!
in case of removal,, will i face any problems ?! ``

THANKS

You should move that power cable so it runs over the top of the block. Its going to melt being that close to the header sooner or later. I've seen headers get red hot. You don't want your car catching fire,... that would suck!

I think the answer is yes you will face a problem with removal. Any decent sealing agent (e.g., caulk) wil create a semi-permanent barrier that will be a pain to remove.

If you're happy with how the sub sounds now, then probably don't mess with a good thing. You may have already found the best compromise possible.

No no...im not suggesting caulk.....im suggesting a piece of foam. It is called caulk foam because you stuff into the crack before you caulk.

You should use GASKET TAPE with 1 sided adhesive. Double it up, you can put a piece on the MDF and a piece on the car. That will give you a great seal.

exactly -- this is the actual name for what i think Dave was referencing. it is a mouldable thick tape that will work fine in this application.
