I bought the Ipod Full speed cable, which I ran over on the passenger side. If you look at the bulge over on the passenger side pocket, I have the Ipod cable slack in there.

I also installed the Alpine KCA-121B Auxiliary connection, which gives you a set of RCA inputs. They two are on the passenger side, and are easily accessible so I can connect an XM receiver, game console, etc.
Is this Ipod high-speed cable something you bought from Alpine when you bought the unit, or is this something that you bought from Modifry when you bought the Wired DCI?

I am looking at getting this exact setup so I just want to be sure that I order the correct items, I want to be sure that my Ipod nano will work seamlessly and still retain the left-hand dash controls. So, I need to buy the Aline HU and Modifry's wired DCI(I think this is the best/quickest one, correct?), and the Ipod high speed cable(but from who, Alpine?).

Also, one more question, with Modifry's wired DCI, will the dash controls be exactly the same, or are some additional functions added, left out, or changed slightly??

Thanks!

The Ipod High-speed cable I bought separately, and it's made by Alpine. Best Buy carries it if you don't want to order it online. This is the cable: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...=KCE-422i&tab=D

The Wired Modifry retains most of the features that the stock controls had. It comes with a few nifty features too.

Your checklist, if you want this setup:

1.) Alpine CDA-9885
2.) Honda Stereo Harness (You can buy the modifry one, which will make the install slightly easier)
3.) Modifry Wired Alpine DCI
4.) Alpine KCE-422i IPod Full Speed Cable
5.) Alpine KCA-121B (this gives you RCA inputs so you can connect a device to it, such as a portable XM player, portable DVD player, etc.)

Awesome deck! I'll have to look into it as well. You can't beat the price.

Thanks for your help, just ordered the Alpine 9885($275) and ipod($29) cable from Crutchfield, free shipping. Also ordered the modifry wired-DCI and harness, as well as the glove-box organizer.

Cant wait to install.

After living with a non-functional OEM radio for the past few weeks, I finally got around to installing my Alpine CDA-9885 head unit.
Looks good. I was looking to the 9857 last year, and then got busy with travel and have been out of the loop for a bit. I just got a recent issue of the Crutchfield catalog and saw the 9885. I was kinda confused cuz it felt as if the 9857 had just come out! Time flies I guess. Looks good and I'm glad to see that it a little cheaper too.

Quick and slightly OT question for you...In the one picture you have an mp3 titled "Fool" playing. What band/artist was that?

Good eye! That's "Everybody's Fool" by Evanescence.

It was off their album Fallen.

1.) Alpine CDA-9885 - $275 shipped (Crutchfield)
2.) Honda Stereo Harness - Free with Crutchfield radio purchase
3.) Modifry Wired Alpine DCI - $105 shipped
4.) Alpine KCE-422i IPod Full Speed Cable - $29 (Best Buy)
5.) Alpine KCA-121B (this gives you RCA inputs) - $25 from local radio shop

So: 275 + 105 + 29 +25 = $434
