Does the IR DCI control the iPod functionality with this deck?

I just installed mine today - same basic set up. I upgraded from a 9847 and Alpine KCA-420i adapter for the iPod and the iPod speed and control are a million times faster. The display doesn't light orange, but I can live with red.

I have an 05 Modifry IR DCI and it works fine, no adjustments necessary.

After living with a non-functional OEM radio for the past few weeks, I finally got around to installing my Alpine CDA-9885 head unit.

For those of you that aren't familiar with this unit, it is Alpine's 2007 replacement for the Alpine 9857. It's cheaper (I paid $275 shipped from Crutchfield) than the 9857, has the Biolite display and 3 8V preouts if I'm not mistaken. It also has these built in holiday and birthday reminders that I'm not sure if the 9857 had.

I complemented this with Modifry's wired DCI and a set of Alpine SPR-17LS component speakers.

Here are a few pics (Some aren't that terrific...forgive me!)

Hi there...
i got the same Head unit u got...but i haven't install yet because i haven't find the speaker yet. so can u please tell me can u control the head unit with the dash control or not, because i don't really like to control with the remote.

Hey I just installed same hu and DCI. Is your CH button working?

If I activate tap-n-Press mode, does it work?

Let me know, Thanks.

Thank you!

Its the 3" Nuvi mount and Nuvi ball sold by Modifry.

The GPS unit is the Garmin Nuvi 660. Excellent GPS....the best of the 3 that I've owned so far.
