Default Finally ordered the Spods...

I am using a local guy here (right across the street from my job) for the install work!!! Here is the deal...Alpine CDA9856 Alpine HU, Coexel Polk DB650's, Polk Coexel for the Spod's, and the ipod adapter installed $850 (including shipment of the Spod), not a bad deal???

Coaxial for the front? or did you mean component? Use components up front.

An amp has nothing to do with it.

What do you plan to do with the tweeters in the door already since the stock honda setup is a component setup (well without a real crossover network but the door speakers are NOT coaxials)?

Why not just buy the right speakers for the front? The right speakers in this case being components instead of coaxials.

Get the best speakers you can afford. And you can afford separates.

Shouldn't the components work with an amp? If so I don't intend on using an amp due to the size or the inside cabin (also should be cheaper with the coaxels), keep in mind I picked them up 2 weeks old for $50 in the box from a coworker of mine...

You can run either with or without an amp. Some components have very low sensitivity, or run at 2 ohms, and should be amped. Many component sets do not need any more power than the 9856 can put out. I (and many others here I'm sure) run components without an amp. The stock door speakers are components and they don't have an external amp either.

In the end, it's your car so do what you want but you may be happier with the result if you put components up front.

If you run the coaxials, you'll want to disconnect the OEM tweeters unless you like bright highs.
