Its the Kenwood KVT-514

$649.99

Refurbished $399

The Bluetooth and GPS modules are additional. I only got the Bluetooth, but will add the GPS later. I have a friend that designs stereo units for a certain company is going to come by and help me override the E-brake switch. This way video can be played whenever.

The problem I had with installing a double din unit was that you won't have a door to cover it like the stock setup. I like how the Kenwood unit allows the door to still be in place so people walking by can't tell anything is there.

I'll take some more pictures soon as I cleaned up the install this weekend and tightened things down.

For $399, I think that's a really great deal. You are getting so much for your money! Do you have any photos of the install from the driver's perspective?

500 Shipped from Amazon.

Crutchfield's prices aren't the best. I got my Alpine ida-x305 for 230 shipped. I believe they are 300 from crutchfield.

now comes the million dollar question, do they make the kit for this Headunit that keeps the functionality of the dash controls?
Info is out there:

Hmm... isn't the screen too close to the shifter anyways? I'd hate to shift hard and accidentally slip my fist into the screen.

When I was researching on doing this in my S2000, the installers I talked to all stated that over time the flip out screen will jam or get loose due to the moving parts of the mechanism and the S2000 suspension wearing out those flip out screen motorized moving parts. I hope you prove those car audio installers wrong.

When the screen is coming out, do you have access to switch between 2, 4 and 6? Or is it stuck in one of those gears?
