Hey Guys,
The Focal 165 KR2's look like great little speakers.
Will they fit in the door?
Any recommendations on what head unit to pair them with?
I can't stand the OEM unit any longer!

 

I have the focals in my door, any deck should be fine just get a good amp.

 

I recommend focal 165vbs running off an alpine pdx5(4ch bridged to 2,180w each side). Its what I have in my car. Sound is very, very good. Crisp without being harsh! I am also running an Alpine cda117 deck & a DLS 10" referance sub in a custom mdf tool well box with the entire trunk, deck lid & license plate dynamatted as well as boom mat behind the sub, inside the box. No rattling whatsoever. I also have no soft top & my hardtop has bolted race brackets instead of latches & catchers. I also removed the side pieces of the rear tray & spare tire cover to let the sound out of the trunk & into the cabin. You will need adapter rings to fit the 165vbs. Any good stereo shop should have them.

 

I would highly recommend Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine I61-2 speakers and Pioneer DEH-80PRS headunit
