Default Footwell sub box

Quick question, does anyone know approx how many cubic feet that would be able to put in the footwell without cutting into the firewall? I have a Kicker 8" L5 that i was considering putting in..

I know modifry has one that he made....wasnt much of a "box" proper, more of a sealed baffle board against the firewall. I want to say it was less than .75CF. There is not much space there, unless you fiberglass it in place. The I could see close to 1.0CF if you took it vertical.

Someone else on here also has on that is mounted to the underside of the dash (where the glove box would be in a normal car) with I think a JL 6w0 in there.

It can be done, but would require some really custom work.

I am going to be building a custom fiberglass box that will have the sub mounted flush with the rear deck. (Just waiting on supply list ).

Yep. i think the sub cant fit into a 0.5 cube enclosure, just want something a for a bit of midrange to compliment the bass in the trunk. Modifry's one included some cutting of the firewall, and yea dont want to go that indepth just yet.

I'm going to buy the Earthquake SWS 10 inch sub. it only needs to barely fit in the box which is less than 3 inches deep. My wife is 5" 1" so there's plenty of legroom.
