Fujitsubo Exhaust and Sound System
Not sure if this is in the right place but...
I'm thinking about getting one of the new alpine MP3 headunits...the 983X series...but I am also set on getting a Fujitsubo Exhaust...
I will just be using the headunit (NO AMP or Sub) to drive the speakers and i have a couple questions
will i be wasting my money on a new headunit because the exhaust will just be too loud for me to hear anything? headunit will be either 50 x 4 peak or 60 x 4 peak....about 27 RMS?
I currently have kenwood XR601's...for door speakers
how much difference will a lucid rear speaker system make if i get the exhaust and the headunit...will rear speakers be a good investment for my setup...I do not have a CAI, header or any other noise enhancing mods.

I don't know how loud your exhaust is.
But yes a powered headunit does improve the overall sound quality. I bought a Pioneer headunit for my wife that was rated at 50 watts, but that only means that one headunit of that make had reached 50 watts before it destroyed itself. However, I did notice an improvement over stock. So you're no gonna get a bangin' system from a head unit amp, but it will be a slight improvement.
As far as the rears are concerned, you should check out the s-pods. I don't have 'em, I want 'em and i'm gonna get 'em. I've read time and time again that rear headrest style speakers are essential for this car at speed with the top down.

They should help you hear your tunes.

I have stock exhaust right now...with top up sound is pretty good....top down at 70mph...lousy
The fujitsubo will be louder....I also want the new headunit because of MP3 capability
are you sure I won't get major improvement because 00-01 headunit is 20 peak and 10rms probably vs the 27/60?
