Default Garmin cracked screen...

I cracked the screen of the Garmin, it fell from its suction device.
Anyone knows who can fix this besides sending it back to Garmin?

Go to their web site and check out how to send it back for repairs. I've had mine in twice, always get it back in about a week and the last time they sent me a brand new unit. I have a friend who endo'd off his dirt bike a couple weeks ago and smashed the display on his 60C badly, it's in getting fixed right now. They're are hands down one of the best customer service companies I've ever dealt with.

They come with a year warranty but after 2 years mine started burning up capacitors and batteries (Rhino 120) for the 2nd time, they still fixed it for free and the 2nd time's when I got the new unit.

is the crack straight through the screen or under the 1st layer?

sometimes, manufacturers won't help if the crack is on top of the 1st layer, indicating true user fault.

good luck with it

Ooh, sucky, sucky. That's a lousy repair to new ratio.

I've dropped my Nuvi 350 several times times in addition to the absolutely crappy suction mount falling off the windshield another dozen times and so far it's not done any damage. <fingers crossed>

The Garmin suction mount absolutely will NOT hold unless you lick it first. And then if you leave it on the windshield for more than a day the rubber will tear and leave bits of rubber on the windshield when you peel it off.

Garmin does have very good customer service though, and I think I'll write them and see if they have any suggestions or an improved suction mount.

I have been quite amazed at Garmin's customer service. I have a StreetPilot 2610 and had a fairly major problem with it last year. As part of their "Thanks" for finding a significant bug in their software, they gave me a free upgrade of their mapping data; I went from Mapsource City Navigator V6 to V8! I have also been impressed when I have talked directly with their Tech Support people; they were very knowledgeable and they seemed to really want to help.

Glad they are replacing your screen for free!
