Ghetto Pods

because i am 6'4 there is no room between the seat and the roll hoop. The speaker is MAYBE a 1/2 inch closer to me then what the spods offer. there is not a full foot differance, im sorry. So in my case the spods would be really close to my head and then you would be right, an improper sound stage. but i am pleased with the way the entire system sounds even though they are mounted on my seat.
you keep on talking about the headphones. illegal, and i think my stereo sounds great and many other people agree. thanks for you input, im glad people like to just bash on other people

I guess you just don't care, which is fact fine with me. I don't have time to teach someone that doesn't want to learn. Have fun.
Oh and I know that wearing headphones is illegal... I was simply making a point, that you clearly missed... Here I'll spell it out for you. If you have one speaker from a sound stage that close to your head then that's the speaker your going to hear the most. You can try and tune it out with digital correction... but that's just way to damn close to your head.
vtec_at_9000 - Since I can't hear anything around me it is dangerous...
You can drive without being able to hear you know... people do it all the time.
Even my new deck, witch puts out more power than the oem hu, and infinity components it is hard to hear with the top down on the freeway
You both baffle me.
And lets just set the record straight. Some people here like Spods, some don't, I don't. Some people have been here a long time and try to help... (Look up EJ here, you'll find out who those people are),... and then some people don't.
To each there own. If you like the ghetto setup you have good for you.

Tell that to the next deaf person you met.

The spod creates a type of enclosure for the speaker to work with.. your setup has the speaker sitting in an 'infinate baffle' which im sure the speaker wasn't designed to be installed that way..
If it sounds good as it is now, then it can only get better in a pod of some sort.

I've got a question for you darkknight.
Instead of running a single 5.25" speaker in each headrest. Would it help to run 2 sets of 3.5" speakers. Meaning have 2 speakers behind each seat?
I'm not even sure if it would be feasible to do. But I would think it would sound better.
Opinion?

Sorry to go a little off-topic but it is somewhat relevant.

whatever i like my stereo.
As for vtec_at_9000, You haven't been hanging out here then looking and reading about different ways to have a great sound stage in an S. I have an awesome sound stage in my car as do MANY others here.
I would think both of you guys have been around long enough to read the FAQ section and find out enough here to build just about any kind of sound stage setup your looking for.
The EJ's that are here are more than happy to help people out and teach them different things. We have people in the retail end, electrical engineers, people that help here because like have enough experience from hands on to know what their talking about.
As for what you think of me... well I'll just say that I try and help out here as much as I can. Ask around about me for yourself, you'll find your wrong about me.
but whatever... you like your stereo and that's all that matters

If you were going to do something like that you'd be much better off installing a 3 ways setup instead. You'll get better sound, and it will be much easier to amp them and cross them over properly.
Are you thinking about doing something like this? If so I highly suggest you look at a set of 3-ways for this type of configuration, as you'll have much better luck with it, a LOT less work and money.
