Default Good Mono Subwoofer Amp

I have 2 8" Rockford Fosgate Punch HE2 RFP4108 subs...
Recommended RMS Power: 250W

What is a good, reasonably priced amp that will kick these hard and not overheat all the time?

JL Audio 250/1 runs cooler than others and puts out more than 250 watts WRMS. Here's one for sale by a fellow s2k owner at a great price: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=201675.

if you have two of these subs, you'll want to give them EACH 250 Wrms, not total 250 Wrms. the power will be split in half to each of the subs.

try the JL 500/1 or other amps rated for 500 Wrms @ 2 ohms.

(since these are a dual voice coil (DVC) 2 ohm sub, you'll have to wire them in series for a 4 ohm total load each. then by wiring them in parallel, you can get a total 2 ohm load.)

through the wiring?

rather than walk you through -- i'm going to link you to a guide that does it for me... they have prettier pictures than i could ever draw...

let me know if that is good enough.

and since the speakers each have the same total load presented, they will split the power equally. (each sub is a 4 ohm total load) so, an amp rated 400-500 Wrms would be optimal. w/ JL amps, that's the 500/1
