Whats up guys.....I just got a new cd changer.....actually an mp3 cd changer
Alpine CHA-S634
I dont really want to install it in my trunk for two reasons.
1. My trunk is symmetrical, and I dont want to upset that.
2. I want the convenience of being able to change the CDs from inside the car. My RL has the changer in the trunk and I hate it.
Anyone have any ideas on where yo mount it???
I was thinking about the passenger side footwell....deep inside, closer to the top.
Another question is, is it safe to drill over there...like straight towards the front of the car, or straight up towards the dash. Thanks for the input guys

PM me your email address and I will send you some instructions with pictures. Do you have a helms manual or access to it?
The compartment closes 100%. If you look at the picture closely you will see a little dent on the right side. That happened when was adjusting the height, but after one adjustment I had no problems with rubs and it worked flawlessly. I just got rid of it since my head unit was MP3 and I could put a ton of cd on on cd-r. No need for a changer. Otherwise I could have sold you the insert already cut.
Hi I installed mine under the drivers seat attached to the seat not the floor. Several others have done the same. It's a good location because at randem intervals the Alpine needs to be rebooted after startup. To do this you need to eject the mazagine and reinsert it and you can do this while driving. Here are pictures of my installation.
Having it off the floor Keeps the dirt out of it and leaves the secret compartment free for the satellite radio antenna and the radio itsellf when I'm not using it. Usually just the MX docking station and it's support as I find I use the satellite at work instead of in the car.

One word of caution, you can remove the seat yourself but get help reinstalling it to prevent scratching the car. it's not heavy just a little awkard.
