Waiting for Garmin to get back to me, but it looks like the new 2455/2495 can do routes the way I want them done, plus use BaseCamp to do routes on my PC and then send the route to the GPS.

If Garmin says to my routing, then I have to wait till Oct/Nov for the units to hit the stores.

If Garmin says to my routing, probably will just go get the 2350 or 2360.

...and doesn't do what the OP asked. I prefer several GPS apps (including the ones mentioned above) on my smartphones but I can't think of any germane to this thread off the top of my head.

You can generate a custom map on My Maps and then load the custom map as a layer and manually follow it on Google Maps but Nav won't follow the custom map (no prompts, etc).

Here is the latest from Garmin....

I'd be happy to assist you with this. The 24x5 series is going to have the same software as a 37xx series. It's going to stop at each of the points you set up along the route. The 2350 would probably be the best option for what you are trying to do.

So.... I have returned my 3790LMT (nice GPS!).... and just ordered a 2350LMT.

$368 vs $149... so I get the GPS to do what I want it to... and it was $219 cheaper!

Well this just sux..... got the 2350LMT today, it it does the routing the same as the 3790.

I'm about to give up on Garmin.... can't get a correct answer from them!

Wonder if I'm missing something on it..... or what?

Just spent 30+ minutes on the phone with Garmin asking them which units will do what I want a GPS to do.....

They told me the 1400 and 1600 series....

Guess I need to go back to Best Buy and try the 1350 and 1450 again, as that was the one that did the routing/waypoints the way I want them done.

This is getting to be a pain in the a*s...

Maybe I'll just make life easier, and not volunteer to lead drives!

The Tom Tom "Go" units will do this - you need to check they have the Itinerary function enabled.

Just checked, the 630 will do it!

Best to download the user manual from the Tom Tom website.

Tried the TomTom again.... and remembered why I hated it..... to try and route a drive, you have to know what city a road/intersection is in.

If its in the middle of nowhere thats hard to do!

Screw it.... I'll look at the Garmin 24x5 when it comes out next month.... I know it won't do routes like I want, but I need to get something!
