Default hardtop wiring question

Hi there,

i just recently bought a s2k hardtop for my 2004, I put the wires together and the harness has one for the hardtop, one for the piece that goes behind the plastic and one that is supposed to go to the side catcher, only problem is the side catcher has no wiring coming out of it, so my question is can i just leave that wire or should I jump it? or what should I do?

thanks in advance.

Did you buy the catchers used? Maybe somebody yanked the wire out not planning to not use the defroster. Might need to order a new catcher. I see you are in Canada, guess you'll want that defroster. Maybe someone can suggest an electrical workaround.

yea I will need that defroster, I don't think I need to buy a new holder, I just have to find out if the wires should be connected or not, I think that when the top is put on it connects the two wires and then sends the power to the hardtop instead of the regular soft top.

If i am right it cancels the softop rear heated window when you have the hardtop on. If you check the driver's side catcher (the one with the cable) you will see on top a switch. When the hardtop is on this switch is pressed so if you press the rear heated window switch in your car the rear heated window of the softop is not working and it works only the hardtop heated rear window.
