How do i do this??? Better yet, where should the wires be ran and what is the best location to mount it? I read that its best to have it where your license plate is since that where the Po-Po aims at.

please use search... it is your best friend.

Also mounting it outside your car is ridiculous... your best radar is your eyes... the piece of hardware is just an "oh shit, theres a cop"... 99% of the time the cop already has your plates and speed before you can respond.

Higher is better with radar. Radar guns typically aren't aimed. You're thinking of laser. It really doesn't matter where you mount your RD for laser. It's just a laser ticket notifier in such situations.

I referred to this guide to hardwire my V1:

Unless you're installing something like the 9500ci.

Maybe your eyes are different but mine don't pick up that spectrum. My RD is certainly a better RD than my eyes.

Though situational awareness is a must even with an RD.

Thanks for speaking for us but 99% of the time the cop doesn't have my speed. In many, many cases the cop is running CO and I've picked up up miles ahead. In other cases a rabbit (always a good idea) helps. RD picks up the cop's radar when he tags the rabbit. It's all about layering tactics and strategies. Even so, the house has the odds in its favor.
