Or use a small PDU, or just T off a thicker power wire.

But yes, you can't connect an endless number of devices to one port for sure.

Did you read the radar detector link that was posted? That will show you were to grab the power and put the ground, just put a wire with an inline fuse on that location.

Ok, after reading posts I figure that in order to hardwire a nuvi I will need to tap into the accessory socket in our fuse panel that Honda supplied to us. I will be tapping into the (Ignition) section. I will also be taking apart my Nuvi cigarette charger and then resoldering the inside wires to run a hot wire out of the charger. Details here:

Finally I should run a fuse holder to protect my Nuvi from frying.
Now my question is: what size amp fuse should I be using in the fuse holder for hardwiring the nuvi?

7.5amp? 10?

Sorry to bump this thread.....

For those of you above who have use Modifry's dash bracket for the Nuvi (or any other device), where did you tap into to hardwire the unit? I assume there are wires under the cluster, but I want be sure before I start messing around under there. It was difficult enough prying a tiny bit up to insert the bracket.

If there is nothing under there, is it possible to snake the cord into the same opening that the bracket sticks out of, then guide it down to the footwell through the dash? I would assume it would be pretty difficult to get the wire from the GPS unit down to the fuse area.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
