At some point in the future I am looking to install a 7" touchscreen LCD into my dash for GPS and music control as well as bluetooth.
I was thinking of maybe getting a Mac Mini to use as the cd player/ dvd player and have GPS function as I would think there would be some good programs for it.
Are there any issues with going this route? Could get a screen for a couple hundred and then the Mac Mini. How are the sound ouputs on those things to a car sound system? I have a 4 channel amp, component Infinity speakers, Infinity sub and Eclipse head unit but I guess that would be gone if I do this.

 

waste of money and time unless your going for show.... i'd just go with a pioneer z3 i think? for that much work your going to end up spending about the same.... i was thinking about buying that shift knob off of you guys but couldn't find the damn sponsor that sold it lol.. good thing i checked here you guys have any in stock? i'll prolly order one next week...

 

Hey. Why is it a waste of money and time? They are pretty cheap? Very small as well. I don't want a big unit for the screen as there is stuff behind it that would have to be messed with if installing a large unit there, double din size.
That's why I was interested in the computer so I could have that where the stock head unit goes and then just send the video output to the screen and audio to the amp. What wouldn't work with that? Just curious. Don't know a whole lot about stereo setups.

As for the shift knobs, I currently have the brushed finish in stock. I should have wrinkle black and gloss black available on Friday.
