Has anyone installed 3 ways component speakers? Pics and feedbacks please
Has anyone had any good success with a 3 ways component speaker installation in the s2k?
Could you post some pics of the custom installation?
How good is the sound staging and which speaker+amp combination did you use?
Thanks

I aldready have but it's not that good atm
I like to upgrade to 3 ways utopia focal and discard the rear subwoofer for some weight saving
So has any audiophile done it yet?
Doable?
Good sound staging or complete POS in a convertible?

I've seen it done in a Miata (small cab and convertable) with the old PolyKev line (pre-K2P line) and they sounded awesome. It was at USAC finals a few years ago and no, I don't have pics. But even with the top down, it sounded amazing. He was running a JL 300/4 amp (front channels to the mid/tweeter, rear channels to the midbass). I was very impressed!
I am in the process of putting in Dynaudio 3 ways.
The doors are sealed with cascade spray and inner skin material.
The tweeters go in the factory location. The 7" woofer just fits. The 3" sealed mid is only about 2" deep and will go easilly in the kick panels. Because they are domed, they don't require a large angle to point towards the occupants. The kicks will require minimal modification so it won't be expensive. The crossovers will go under the seats or up under the dash on each side.
I'm using kember kable and an Audison amp. I made a detailed post recently about how to find these parts at good prices.
This set up will allow a good bass frequency response without running a trunk sub, that shakes the rear tray so much it overwhelms the music anyway. It will also play pretty loud with clean reproduction. Everything will be stealth with the amp mounted on a custom tray secured by the fuel fill and gas tank opposite the spare tire. My install man, by the way, can sell you a tray like the one he's making for me.
I can email photos but can't post them myself.

sounds like a very good project 2004S2000
got your pics
I will post that tomorrow when I get a little bit more free time
looking forward to he next lots of phot of the kick panel
please keep me post of your staging of the sound
FYI I placed the tweeters in my Rockford 2 ways split in the same location that you are planning to install your. IMO the staging is not that good. I think you will achieve better staging *hopefully* with either higher or lower locations.

I'm not competing. In fact I would have been happy to find cheaper alternatives. But I wanted to avoid a trunk sub set up and still have some decent bass frequency response. The Dynaudio 3 way is the best I found. Not cheap! Madisound.com can set you up with a similar product by Morel for less money, but these require more power as they have a lower sensitivity rating. Dynaudio urges buyers to use audison, jlaudio, and only a couple of additional amps. Lesser amps played at high volumes will destroy these speakers, they say.
