Default Have stereo, need install

Ok, I can't seem to find any topics about how to open the dash where the stereo is to replace it on an '04+ or earlier for that matter.

I've got a new Sony CDX-M9055X and a wire kit ready to go, but I don't know where to start on removing the dash pieces... This is always the hardest part of an install!

Thanks!

to remove the 04/05 radio door you'll need to pull the center console up a bit and move it out of the way BUT the rest is the same

So the top of the center console just pulls up? I tried and heard a slight crack and gave up!

With the weak stereo Honda puts in this car, they outta hand you the instructions when you buy it! It's pretty bad when the stock Element sounds twice as good. And no MP3 capability in 2005 is just plain sad!

yup it pulls right up

if you want to completely remove it you'll need to remove the shift knob and unplu the hazzard switch and the top switch

it's held in by clips

This will help

just grab the radio door when it is down and pull up and away and it should pop right off. That is how it is done in my MY00, and the design I dont think has really changed. If you are not confident in yourself, just take it to a local audio shop, they will charger like $50 to install it and it will take them about 1/2 hour and will come with a workmanship warranty.

Also....you did get the DCI, right? If not, the dash controls might not function.
