I've added the S-pods for speaker placement in the rollbar area. I have really enjoyed the added sound quality from a moderately priced speaker in this location. I use the OEM head and had a local car audio shop do the final speaker wire connection.

Go for the added sound, you won't regret it.

If you're talking about the factory headrest speakers, I wouldn't bother. The dealer I bought my car from installed them on an S2000 that came sometime after I bought mine. I talked a salesman into letting me play with that car's sound system while I was waiting for my car to get an oil change.

To say that I wasn't impressed is a gross understatement. The little tweeters used were very "tinny" and not very loud regardless of what I did with the base/treble and for/aft fade adjustments on the radio. I doubt that I would be able to hear them at all while driving down the road with the top down.

FWIW!

I just got them installed on Monday and I really like them and I got them for a really good deal...Anyway I had a Nissan 350Z and that had a really nice sound system the Honda S2000 has a really bad on, but the headrest speakers did make a big difference and I really like them...Still the bass is low in the car and I need to do something about that other than that I expected this from a SPORTS CAR!

I have the S-Pods and they are tooooo deep. I also use the original head unit. I have a good woofer and separate tweeter in the Pods. Sounds good at 80+ and looks good. The seats maintain their race look plus it helps break up the air when the top is down better than the windscreen.

Are there other S owners in your area? What have they done?

Can you change a light bulb and plug in a lamp? Then the guys here should be able to walk you through doing it yourself.

$400 to install headrest speakers is ridiculas. I have seen the install instructions, and if it took me more than an hour the first time, and 20mins every subsequent time I would be very dissapointed in myself.

So I could charge $400/hr for the first set and $1200/hr for every other time I did these. That's a pretty nice hourly rate.

This may be a dumb question but do the S-pods come with speakers in them or do they just facillitate installation of rear speakers in the rear?
