Yeah I appreciate it. I bought and installed it a few days ago and I love it. I just need to find an auxilary cable that fits the small opening.

[QUOTE=mgp 2675,Sep 12 2006, 10:46 AM] The only reason I'm steering away from Alpine is because it doesn't have the normal aux. outlets in the front or back.

Oh they are awesome head units, and someone told me as I was inquiring about the Pioneer that the new Alpines are much faster...but the setup I have with the Pioneer is easier because it has an auxilary outlet right on the face and I can control the ipod to select songs.

Alpine makes a simple aux rca input adapter that plugs into the ai-net (cd changer input) plug in the back of the unit. It would be simple to just plug any type of mp3 player into that and then use the mp3 players controls to browse your collection. Plus, that keeps options open as to whether you want to get a iPod or another brand of mp3.

Put it this way, I got the Pioneer for $40 cheaper than the Alpine I was looking at, and it has an outlet in the front of the unit...rather than in the back which is a nuisance. You can also plug any mp3 player into the Pioneer.
