Default Head unit dash control

I currently have an RSX-S but am looking to sell for an s2k. I currently have an Eclipse CD8443 and was wondering if this would work with the console mounted
audio controls??? i read something on these forums about an IR emitter or something like this, what exactly is that and how much does it cost? thanks

Check lucid automotive. They make an aftermarket harness.

You can get an interface for the aftermarket radio, which allows you to use the factory dash controls........ u should be able to pick one up from a bestbuy or a circuit city and they run around 40bucks

don't go there.... the interface Lucid sells is a custom made item from Modifry that is specific to our car...

the one you get from BB or CC is a programmable unit from PAC that has known issues and reportedly a very annoying 1-3 second delay on key presses.

edit: here's Lucid's DCI page: http://lucidautomotive.com/cgi-bin/merchan...roduct_Code=dci

Can we make this topic a sticky with all the consolidated info from Lucid, Modify, DJ Qube....It seems to be the most common Q&A

actually Mike -- the info is stickied in the S2000 Audio FAQ...
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=155209

it's the first question answered under: #S2000-specific Topics
people just don't read it. they'd rather ask us the same question over and over and over and over...

But they have to go into the FAQQ to see it...this topic could stand on its own, it is so popular.

yes, i could see how this topic would stand alone... we should probably make a clear post about it w/ a good title, then sticky that and close it...

or perhaps put it as the first question answered in the S2000 Audio FAQ...
