I have a Sony MEX-R1 head unit with a handbrake wire..

now i presume this wire is here so that you can't watch DVDs without the handbrake on (i only installed it last night and no screen in there yet to test)

is there a way to bypass this 'feature'?

can i just ground the wire? or do i need to do something else..

Ground the wire or on the loom hook it up to the black wire

 

99% yes. Almost all headunits Ive ever used that had this feature just needed a ground.
