Default head units

looking for opinions on head units for my S. Also has any one, used a converted to make the side buttons work on an aftermarket radio. i like the buttons to the left of the steering wheel and would need them to be operational.
Thanks.

Your own thread is fine to post in but it should be in the Electronics subforum. Don't overlook the subforum as your questions are very common. If you want recommendations on head units then post what you're looking for, budget, etc.

I got a Pioneer BH8400 bs last week. It sounds incredible and the Modifry DCI kept the side controls.

I run a Sony Xplod HU, a bit more powerful than the stock unit with 52x4 w, you can change the face colour to match the vehicle or any choice you want, it comes with hands-free phone built-in, USB and auxillary ports.

Modifry DCI is the best for the radio controls, he has some plug and play options if you don't want to mess with wiring. I love the variable speed volume that you can wire up with Modifry's DCI, perfect addition to a convertible car to assist with road noise.

I am using an Alpine HU with the Modifry DCI.
Alpine has many options to choose from, depending on what you want.
I chose one with iPod connectivity, and AUX inputs and 3 sets of RCA.
Fits in the dash just fine, so I can still close the door.

Do some research, and get what you like, it is your car.
But these previous posts, are all here to help you choose !!!

Pioneers are really good. Don't know what your budget is but check out the deh-80prs. This is one of the best headunits out!
Plus most of the pioneers will let u change the color of the display to match our cluster.
