Headlight Ballast Replacement.
I have a bad ballast.
My question is can you replace the ballast by removing the inner fender liner? Can it be unbolted from the headlight with the headlight in place?
I would rather not go through the trouble of removing the fender liner if it can't be done that way.
Thanks.

The Service Manual shows the "HID unit' is removed from the front after removing the headlight. (Page 22-138.) Never had to do this so someone with direct experience will post some tips.
Go to the link and download a copy. It's a searchable PDF and handier many times than the 2000-page printed manual and will save you hours of time. Lots of technical information as well as procedures in the manual. I have a copy on my desktop PC as well as a laptop I can take into the garage when working on my car. The link is the real SM, not the one with the bikini clad Japanese model on the cover. You can also just load it onto a thumbdrive and take it everywhere.

Thanks Chuck.
I have a factory shop manual.
Just wanted to ask if others have done through the fender.
I have been in the business long enough to know there is sometimes a difference between the "service manual way" and the "flat rate way".
