Default Headrest speakers

Recently bought a 2004 white/tan, I've read a bunch of threads regarding headrest speakers - I recently sold my '95 Miata that had headrest speakers (a PAIR per headrest, retaining the stereo) and have found several references to Spods - looks like they only provide ONE channel per headrest. Is this correct? Idealy you'd have both channels run to each headrest, right? What is conventional wisdom?

I'll be upgrading my headunit as well, I assume the ability to use the dash controls has been solved...

Dash controls can be retained using the Modifry DCI. It cost about $100, but well worth it.

DCI Yes, Head rest speakers no. Save the cash for a better set of components and you will be rewarded with way better staging/imaging.
