Default Headunit Harness and Modifry's PnP harness

I got my CDA-9886 from Crutchfield today, and it came with the wiring harness for the headunit as well free of charge. What I'm wondering is when I order the Wired DCI from Modifry, and get the Plug and Play harness as well- does the PnP harness take the place of the wiring harness that Crutchfield gave me? or does the Modifry PnP harness go with the wiring harness that I have already?

Kinda confused...

you would use the plug&play harness in place of the Crutchfield harness.
alternately you can splice the Crutchfield adapter harness to the Alpine
headunit harness & DCI harness, eliminating the need for the PnP. Check
to make sure the Crutchfield adapter harness has the dash switch wire and
the mute switch wire (specific to the s2000) as many generic Honda adapter
harnesses don't.

thank you sir, just what i needed to know. according to the paper for the harness they supplied, it had neither of the two wires you listed so PnP it is...didn't feel like splicing into the factory wire anyways lol

I bought the Modifry Plug-n-Play and it took me 15 min. at the most to swap out my HU.

on the cda-9886, is the AUX input on the back or front? i don't like most ipod friendly cd players because i prefer to control my ipod from the actual ipod. so if the aux input is on the back i can still leave my radio door always closed and run an aux cable our the back and around the passenger footwell. thanks.

everything is in the back of the headunit...no plugs in the front for anything. also, i don't think you can control the ipod from the ipod itself with this unit. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong though.

i think if you use the AUX adapter then you can. the headunit will just think the ipod is some other form of media device.

I think you'll need some adapters for Aux In. Check the manual. If you don't have it handy it's in PDF format via Alpine's site.

You might be able to connect it via USB and still use the iPod's controls. Can't say for certain as my iPod lives in the secret compartment.
