I've had this car for three weeks now and this thing on the lower left side underneath the steering wheel has been bothering my knee....
I'm pretty sure it doesn't come attached to the car stock and probably
the previous owner installed that thing there for a purpose but I don't know what
it is and if it is ok to take it off....please help me

Hard to tell without knowing where the wires go. Can you unscrew it and look for a part number on the back side?

Probably some kinda of starter kill. You could swing by a shop that puts on alarms (Best Buy, Circuit....nevermind...or a local shop) and see if they'll look at for you and they could tell you if it's on any of your starter circuits.
