clean off the connectors inside your map light.

take note on how the map light comes apart. pry the clear plastic off first.

Thank you for your reply and your feedback but the map light work's perfectly with the keyless entry and in the on position. It also works when i am oppening the passenger's side door so it cannot be that. Most possible is the drivers side door light switch but i do not know how to check it.

the door switches are usually very simple. they just complete the circuit to the negative earth.
Most probably a rusted/mucky contact,
remove the door switch and check that the fixing point is not rusty (if so clean it)
Check the door switch with a continuity meter, when pushed in there should be no continuity between the input and where the metal part of the switch touches the body of the car.
when released there should be continuity.
or pull the cable from the back of the switch and touch it to an earth on the bodywork, the interior light should light up.
Also check with a volt meter that the cable to the back of the doorswitch has power.

Thank you shepp your reply.
Is it easy to take the door light switch off? When i saw it, it looks like is quite good attached to the body frame. Is it just unclip it because i could not see any screws over there.

Remove the panel covering that section inside the car (pull up the sill plate first)... one screw, that's all. You can touch the wire without removing the switch (though pulling out the switch is just as easy).
