Default Dome light stopped ''working''

My dome light had problems before, when the switched is moved from door to on or off position, it would not light up when place back to door position. Then after a few days it would light up normally.

Recently I accidently turned the lights on and when I put it back to the door position, it hasn't been lighting up. Lights still work when turned to ON position. The light doesn't light up on door position regardless if the button is pressed down or when the doors are open/car unlocked.

Anyone have this problem before?

Mess around with the door sensor, if the light comes on try and take the sensor apart and clean the contacts. If not take the light apart and clean the contacts in there.

If the door switch is ok then there may be a bad connections somewhere.
Try this:
1. pry the lens off
2. remove the screws
3. unplug the four pin connector
4. look for any corrosion
5. With the switch in the middle position, check for continuity between the two pins that are closes to the tab part of the plug. If there is no reading there is something wrong with the switch.
6. reset the body ground screw.
7. on the other part of the plug check for voltage between the white/blue and green/yellow wires when you hit the unlock on your keyless remote
8. If there is no voltage check for voltage between white/blue wire and body ground. If no voltage there is a fray in the white/blue wire or the fuse. If there is voltage check for continuity between green/yellow wire and body ground when you hit the unlock button. If no continuity there is a fray in the green/yellow wire or your keyless door lock control unit is malfunctioning.

I hope this helps some.

to troubleshoot for oxidation, flip the switch back and forth ten times, and if the switch then works, you know for certain it is the contacts that have to be cleaned.
