Default Help with dvd unit

First of I have a Audiobahn lcd/dvd unit, had it installed by a professional and it worked great for a month or two. After those two months the pic in the screen starts to jump up the screen, best way to describe this is like one of them old tv that uses them long antenna which you gotta get it in a certain postion for the pic to stay still on the screen. The lcd turns on and the blue screen is fine, when I turn the power on the dvd unit the screen starts to do that. I'd re-wired the whole unit and still that doesn't fix it, I figure it's the dvd unit and not the lcd. I also did what darkknight1999 had said to do by using the home dvd and hooking it up to see if it'll work and it worked perfect, not sure if it's the wiring or the dvd unit itself. If anyone can help then that'll be kewl, thanks in advance...

it sounds like it's the dvd itself. if you hooked up the home dvd (good idea by the way) did you use the home dvd wires, or just the ones in the car already? if not try that. i've dealt with audiobahn dvd players before, and i' wouldn't doubt that it's defective. good luck.

I'd used the wires that were already there from the dvd unit and lcd, it was perfect when I'd hooked it up to the home dvd player. If only I could use that thing, is there anyway I can shink that damn thing ? I think it's the dvd unit itself, can I borrow anyone elses dvd unit to test in my S ? Could it be a wiring issue? Anyone???

i don't think it's wiring from what you've written so far.

Well I'm gonna test it out a few more times to see what the results are, I really don't wanna pick up another dvd unit but I will if I really really have to. With that being said, which dvd unit (base) do you or anyone else recommend? I know that there are those that are indash which has FM and Am tuning just like a regular deck and such but I prefer to stay with the stock HU, this is just cuz it's alot easier and I don't have to mess with getting the PAC SWI-X mod. Thanks for the help...

If it was installed by a "professional" they will most likely have some sort of workmanship warranty. They should fix it, or at least tell you that your unit is screwed up and that you should make a warranty claim to Audiobahn.

DVD units as all video output devices like these have vertical adjustments and this 'could' be off... Or it could be the part fo the circut that has a stability issue. Either way the DVD unit needs replacing/servicing.
