Ok, I just bought a '92 civic as a beater and I was wanting to install my stock s2k cd player in it to replace the stock tape/radio in the civic.

The civic harness is a 16 pin
The s2k harness is a 20 pin

I purchased a new s2k harness, and I figured I would just match up the colors to the wires already in the civic (afterall, so many Honda items are compatible) . . . no dice! Did not work out too well. I ended up with about 4 or 5 wires from the civic not used and about 6 or 7 from the s2k harness that were not used, and a cd player that is not functioning.

Any help??????

 

all you really needed to get is an aftermarket harness to connect to the civic harness and a stock honda harness for the stock headunit. if u already have a stock s2000 harness, u should of just purchased the aftermarket 92 civic harness and just plug em in together.

I've never tried this in a 92 civic but this is what we did with my friends 92 protege. we just simply bought a stock honda harness and a aftermarket for mazda and. the mazda harness was also 16 pins. hope this helps.
